Pamper your pet with a spa day! A positive bathing and grooming experience results in your pet feeling happy and looking great! Pamper your pet with a day with Lisa Downing, our professional groomer with over 16 years’ experience. Lisa was a veterinary technician for 6 years, affording her an in-depth knowledge of medical conditions in pets. Lisa is especially good at first time grooming of puppies that may see grooming as a foreign and threatening experience. Lisa treats each pet with kindness and compassion, giving the nervous, elderly or first time pet enough “down time” to make it a pleasant, pampered, experience. This is especially true with cat grooming, at which she excels.
The Grooming and Bathing Experience
Treat your pet to a luxurious bath at Little Silver Animal Hospital, a soothing experience from skilled professionals. Our special cleansing baths remove dirt, debris, and odor, leaving the coat silky and your pet feeling fresh and revitalized.
If your pet is highly sensitive and requires a sedative to eliminate the stresses associated with grooming—fear of water, dryers, or strangers—your veterinarian will provide that service as well. With regular appointments, many such sensitive pets come to enjoy the experience of grooming, or at least to tolerate it with less anxiety.
Aside from pet baths, our grooming service includes:
- Breed cuts
- Styling
- Stain removal
- De-skunking
- Nail trim
- Ear cleaning
- Anal gland expression
- Bows or bandanas
- Cologne upon request
- Medicated baths
Grooming is an investment in your pet’s health.
Having your pet groomed can improve maintenance for skin and coat, early detection of developing conditions, and protection from external parasites. In addition, grooming includes such general care tasks as nail trims, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression. Done properly, grooming is also a time for pampering your pet through the gentle handling and reassurance of our grooming professionals.
A Note about Sedation
There are some situations where your dog or cat may need to be sedated to ensure the safety of both your pet and the grooming and bathing professional. Lisa works with our veterinarians and technicians to ensure the safety of your pet while under sedation. There is an additional fee for sedation while receiving grooming services—please contact us with any questions about sedation or if you believe your pet may benefit from this intervention.
You may even wish to consider combining your companion’s annual wellness exam with a visit to the groomer, for a bit of extra pampering after the check-up. As an added convenience, our groomer will work around your boarding or daycare schedule so you have the pleasure of picking up a well-groomed pet to take home.
Contact our office for a consultation or to schedule a visit with our grooming professional. Please note: The following vaccines must be documented and current at the time of your grooming appointment. For dogs: rabies, distemper, and bordetella. For cats: rabies and distemper.
