Houndstooth is another option for those clients whose pets have mild to moderate dental tartar. There is no anesthesia involved. They clean above and below gum line, checking for pockets and problem areas. The teeth are then polished. If they determine that after a cleaning that  your pet needs additional diagnostics, that would need to be performed under anesthesia such as digital dental radiographs and possibly extractions that could be set up for another day under the care of the doctors of little silver animal hospital.
